Job Description:
As a Commercial Lines Inside Salesperson, you will play a key role in growing our agency while living out our mission and values every day. This role is more than selling and servicing insurance - it's about listening to business owners' stories, understanding their risks and operations, and helping them feel confident about the future. You will foster new commercial relationships, strengthen existing ones, and be the trusted resource business owners turn to when their operations, exposures, or coverage needs change.

Benefits/Perks
  • Competitive Pay
  • Professional Development
  • Job Stability in a growing industry

What You'll be doing (Besides making us smile)
  • Connect with business owners across a range of industries to understand their commercial insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Respond quickly and warmly to new inquiries and referrals, making every interaction professional and approachable.
  • Quote, present, and secure policies across commercial lines (e.g., general liability, commercial property, BOP, commercial auto, workers' comp, and umbrella/excess).
  • Proactively reach out to prospects and existing commercial clients to uncover additional coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Educate business owners on coverage options, exclusions, and endorsements in a way that's clear and relatable.
  • Maintain accurate client records and follow up consistently to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Contribute to agency sales goals while focusing on long-term relationship building with commercial accounts.
  • Represent the agency in a positive light within the local business community.
  • Prospect and develop new commercial insurance opportunities, including cold calling and networking at events, business associations, and community events.
  • Build and maintain a consistent sales pipeline, and accurately forecast sales activity and opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with Centers of Influence and referral partners.
Qualifications
  • Experienced insurance agent with a proven track record in sales and client service — a minimum of one year of sales experience in the insurance industry required.
  •  Licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance in North Carolina (or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  •  A passion for helping business owners and being part of a community-focused team - our clients will love your problem-solving skills (and we bet you'll make a few friends along the way!).
  • Strong communication and active listening skills — the ability to explain commercial coverage simply and kindly (with patience, and maybe a smile or two).
  • A self-starter who is motivated to achieve goals but also values teamwork (bonus points if you can motivate others with your positivity!).
  • Tech-friendly and comfortable learning new systems for quotes, client management, and follow-up (don't worry, we'll help you master the copy machine too).
  • A positive attitude – your energy will light up the office (and the phone line!).
  • Organizational skills that would make your favorite productivity app jealous.
  • Ability to juggle tasks (figuratively, please leave the actual juggling to the circus).
  • A good sense of humor – we're a fun team and we like to laugh while we work.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $47,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
